Ellen Faye Gonzales, 66, of Shiner passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021.  She was born January 15, 1955 in Yorktown to Alvin Brandt and Norma Apple.  She was an LVN and held the title ADON at Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation for many years.  She loved helping others and she lived her life to the fullest.

She is survived by her mother, Norma Apple; daughters, Sarah Zielonka (Curtis Perkins) of Shiner, Shannon Cummings of Yorktown and Angel Hamilton of Yorktown; sister, Nancy (Barry) Gips of Yoakum; grandchildren, Haley and Kylie Perkins of Shiner, Karagan Cummings, Kolton and Kelsi Smith, Kinsley Hamilton, Patrick Rohan of Yorktown and great-grandson, Rylan Smith; and her constant companion, her dog Fred.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Brandt and sister, Linda Volkmer.

Ellen will be lying in state on Thursday, February 25, 2020, from 11:00 - 5:00 pm at Freund Funeral Home.  Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2020, 10:00 am at Hillside Cemetery with Pastor Terry Brown officiating.

Pallbearers include Kolton Smith, Patrick Rohan, Curtis Perkins, Ross Gips, Ray Stehling and Mark O'Neal.

Honorary Pallbearers include Haley and Kylie Perkins, Karagan Cummings, Kelsi Smith and Kinsley Hamilton.
