Elna Leona Grube, 89, of Cuero passed away Monday, October 8, 2018.  She was born June 21, 1929 in Westhoff to the late Christian W. and Christina Spellman Schulle.  Elna married Ervin Paul Grube on June 26, 1948 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero.  She was a housewife and a childcare provider.  Elna enjoyed sewing for family and friends, and when her children were young, she sewed all their clothes.  She spent  a lot of time in her flowerbeds and always had a pot of coffee on for whoever stopped by.  Most of all, Elna loved being a Mother, a Nana, and a Nanny.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Foster (Darrel) of Cuero, Karen Tieken (Roland) of Victoria, Betty Farris (David) of Cuero, and Jolynn Henry of Victoria; son of her heart, Donnie Caraway of Cuero; grandchildren, April Spears (Todd) of Austin, Jenna Caskey (Justin) of Portland, and Michael Farris and girlfriend, Molly Mollenkopf, of Seguin; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Spears, Holden Spears, and Rylan Caskey.

Elna was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Emily Born Schulle; husband, Ervin Grube; sisters, Henrietta King, Lorine Rickman, and Norma Landgrebe; brothers, Waldemar Schulle, August Schulle, Rudolph Schulle, and Erwin Schulle; and granddaughter, Kortney Tieken.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Freund Funeral Home.  Services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kallie Green officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
