Elsie Marie Johnson, 83, of Cuero, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018.  She was born May 9, 1935 to the late Albert and Velia Unger Mueller in Goliad.  Elsie was a member of the Quilting Guild, Texas Wild Flower Association, and the Silver Sneakers and Tai Chi Exercise Program.  She also enjoyed playing Bridge and Bunco with friends, painting artwork, and spending time in her garden.

Elsie is survived by her three sons, Neil Niemann of Austin, Mark (Nancy) Niemann of Tuscola, and Robert Niemann of Austin; two grandchildren, Rai-Lee (Craig) Gardiner of Bedford ,Nova Scotia, Canada and Alex Niemann of Tuscola; two great grandchildren, Ian and Emily Gardiner of  Bedford ,Nova Scotia, Canada; two sisters, Carilyn (John) Scott of Refugio and Marilyn (Henry) Geistmann of Woodsboro; and her dearest friend and sister in Christ, Mary Clare Prause of Cuero.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill Johnson.

The visitation service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church.  The rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral mass will immediately follow at 10 a.m. with Father Jasper Liggio officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church.
