Eric Randall Tomanec Ph.D., 53, of Cuero passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015. He was born December 10, 1961 in Cuero to Joseph D. and Jane P. Tomanec. Eric earned his Eagle Scout in January 1976, received an Associated of Applied Arts from TSTC in Waco, and received his Bachelors of Applied Arts and Sciences from the University of Houston in 1987. He then went on to receive his Masters of Arts from the University of Houston and his Doctorate of Philosphy from the University of Texas, Austin in 2010. Eric was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a teacher for 27 years at both the middle school and collegiate levels.

He is survived by his parents; brother, Scott A. Tomanec and wife, Betty E., of Victoria; niece, Kriston L. Tomanec; nephew, Chad D. Tomanec and wife, Alainya; and great-nieces, Avery E. Tomanec and Brieley E. Tomanec.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015, 10 a.m., at Hillside Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Thompson officiating. Interment will follow.
