Eva Tamez, 86, of Westhoff passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Garland.  She was born January 26, 1933 to the late Hiliberto and Luisa De Leon Suniga in Yorktown.  Eva was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing and playing poker, card games and bingo.  She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Westhoff.

She is survived by her daughters, Janie Tamez of Irving and Guadalupe Monjaras of Garland; sisters, Catalina Gonzales of Temple and Blanca Gonzales of Westhoff; brothers, Cruz Suniga of Westhoff and Roman Suniga of Edna; half-brother, Herminio Mejia; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Tamez; sons, Frank and Willie Tamez; grandson, Domingo Cruz Tamez; and granddaughter, Jessica Ann Monjaras.

Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Westhoff with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating. Interment to follow at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Westhoff.

Pallbearers will be Miguel Monjaras Jr., Johnathon Tamez, Belen Monjaras, William Tamez, Kobe Soto and Drew Mitchell.
