Fay Ruth Egg, 81, recently of Cuero died Saturday, November 3 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado as the sun set. Her children were present at her passing.
Fay was born in Cuero on March 18, 1931. She was the second youngest in the large Aldis family. She married William Egg, from Meyersville, in 1951. They became a Navy family and lived in towns across the country during their time together. She drove thousands of miles with her children and dogs in the station wagon, traveling from one duty station to the next and back to Cuero for holidays. Still, she always loved her hometown and chose to live in Cuero after her responsibilities to her family were fulfilled. Fay loved Grace Episcopal Church and all of her friends there. She loved her family and her chihuahuas. Fay was always determined and independent and strong, and eager to take on projects in her garden and home. She knew no limitations.
Fay is survived by her children, Bill Egg and his wife Lisa of Pagosa Springs, Beverly Hall and her husband Roger of Fayetteville, NC, and Rebecca Egg and Daniel Veirs of Taos, NM. She treasured her 5 beautiful grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Morgan, Ryan, and Molly and her great grand-daughter, Becca. Her surviving sisters, Bernice and Sybil, knew her as Bootsie and shared much laughter with her through the years. Fay's children are grateful for the loving support that her sisters provided her, particularly during the final months of her life. Fay also cherished her many nieces and nephews who were always considerate and loving. She will be sorely missed by all.
Services will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in Cuero with Rev Eric Fenton officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
