Felix Joe Salazar, 69, of Houston passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012. He was born May 2, 1942 in Stratton to Eugene and Simona Medina Salazar. He married Beatrice Ybarra on October 22, 1960 in Paducah.

He is survived by his parents; wife of 51 years, Beatrice Salazar; daughters, Sandra Plain and husband, Robert, and Berlinda Salazar; sons, Noah Salazar and wife, Lisa, and Patrick Salazar; special son, Staff Sgt. Calvin D. Gomez and wife, Amber; sisters, Mary Keagy, Lupe Alonzo and husband, Agupito, and Chavela Torres; brothers, Antonio 'Tony' Salazar, Amador Salazar, Armando Salazar, Johnny Salazar, and David Salazar; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a special mother-in-law, Betty Ybarra; and special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by brother, Ferndo Salazar.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be Thursday, April 19, 2012, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Staff Sgt. Calvin Gomez, Noah Salazar, Patrick Salazar, Antonio Salazar, Jon McLain, Chris Lopez, Johnny Romo, and Faustino Rodriguez.

Honorary pallbearers include Joe Charles, Lance Dressman, and all the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and special nieces.
