Obituary

Floyd Daniel Boedeker, 86, of Cuero, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018.  He was born October 19, 1931 in Shiner to the late George and Annie Koenning Boedeker. He was one of four sons, Emmett (deceased), Leonard (deceased), and George Jr. (deceased).   Floyd graduated from Shiner High in 1950 and then joined the United States Army with the Military Police, where he served at Governor's Island in New York, Germany, and France.  Floyd married his lovely wife, Evelyn Keeton, on June 6, 1957.   He taught her to dance and they were asked to lead 17 grand-marches at party functions over their 61 year marriage.  After his honorable discharge in January of 1955, Floyd became a plant operator at Union Carbide in Seadrift until his retirement in 1985.  Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Floyd is survived by his wife; daughters, Brenda (Bill) Coons of Victoria, Shirley (Gary) Henneke of Cuero, Cheryl (Adolph)Robles of Victoria, and Melissa Buenger of Cuero; grandchildren, Angela Arnold of Pflugerville, Shawn Arnold of Victoria, Dawn Arnold of Victoria, Jennifer (Jose) Pous of Victoria, Elizabeth Henneke of Lincoln, CA, Julia Henneke of Cuero, and Jillian Robles of Victoria; and great-grandchildren, Emma Pitman, Andres Pous, Ariana Pous, and Alec Pous.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Kallie Green officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Shawn Arnold, Jose Pous, John Boedeker, Larry Boedeker, Bobby Boedeker, Lloyd Boedeker, Andres' Pous, and LeRoy Boedeker.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Cuero or Harbor Hospice of Victoria.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff of Cuero Home Health for the loving care given to our husband, daddy, grandpa, and Paw Paw.
