Frances Straka Milder McAlpine, 93, of Cuero passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015. She was born September 2, 1921 in Fayetteville to the late John Straka and Marie Novak Straka. She loved planting flowers in her garden and crocheting.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Jo Zalesky of Houston and Diana Milder of Cuero; sons, Frank Milder (Barbara) of El Campo, Joe Milder (Carolyn) of Apline, Louis Milder (Carolyn) of El Campo, and Anthony Milder of Wharton; sister, Lillie Pavlock of Plantersville; and grandchildren, David Milder, Cecil Milder, Monica Gresser, Michael Milder, Chris Milder, Jeff Milder, Jonathan Zalesky, Chris Zalesky, Anthony Zalesky, Jess Mudd, Brittany Greeson, and Julie Milder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, William McAlpine; her children's father, Ignatius Milder; sisters, Toni Havelka, Mary Barcuch, Agnes Mikus and Emilie Rebecek; brothers, Emil Straka and Johnnie Straka.

Visitation will be held at Freund Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 5-6 pm, with the Rosary to begin at 6 pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 9 am with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston.

Pallbearers include Jess Mudd, Chris Zalesky, Michael Milder, Chris Milder, Jeff Milder, and Leroy Fajkus. Honorary pallbearers include David Milder, Cecil Milder, Jonathan Zalesky, Anthony Zalesky, Julie Milder, Monica Gresser, and Brittany Greeson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in memory of Frances McAlpine.
