Obituary

Genevieve Miller Parks died September 16, 2013. She was born November 27, 1914 to John and Mary Huettner Miller, the youngest of seven siblings and preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Johnny Miller, Joseph Miller, Otto (Blondie) Miller and sisters: Ethel Miller See Treptow, Caroline (Carrie) Haynes and Mary Miller.

She married Thomas (Jr.) Boothe Parks who preceded her in death in March 1989 and lived in "Upper Concrete", as she called the hill where they lived. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Parks Griffith of Austin; granddaughter, Colette Griffith Parsons and husband, Kendall, of Laguna Beach, CA; her 'adopted daughters,' Ann Cragin Green of Anacortes, WA and Shirley Crain of Cuero; and 'adopted niece,' Jennifer Green Eldred (Grant and Madeline) of Chislehurst Kent, Great Britain.

She graduated from Cuero High School, attended South State Teachers College in San Marcos, worked as a bookkeeper for the Cuero Livestock Auction Ring, Leske Motor Company and retired from the Buchel Bank. She was member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Quilter's Club and Hochheim Community Club.

Pallbearers will be Kendall Parsons, Steve See, Keith Mooney, Greg Haynes, Bob Haynes, Tim Magee, and Walter Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Vick Haynes, Bobby McMahon and Leslie Koenig.

Visitation will be Friday, September 20, 2013 from 6-7:30 p.m.

There will be a graveside service with the procession leaving from Freund Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 with interment in Hochheim Cemetery in Hochheim. In Lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hochheim Cemetery Association, St. Mark's Lutheran Church or a memorial of your choice.
