Georgie Heyer, 91, of Cuero passed away Friday, June 1, 2018. She was born March 6, 1927 in Arneckeville to the late Albert and Vera Junker Friedrichs. Georgie married the love of her life, Harold Heyer on July 26, 1946 in Cuero. Her first claim to fame was playing for the Bluejeans softball team in the 1940's. She was an avid golfer until she was 78 years old; never missing a Wednesday with the girls golfing group. In 2005, a quadruple bypass slowed the golf playing but she watched endless hours on the golf channel still wanting to perfect that swing. That never happened so she took up dominos. The Arneckeville dominoes group kept her on her toes. She had a few other loves including her flowers and watching wildlife. She passed that green thumb on to Chanin. In the past few years she also became quite the hummingbird enthusiast. They will miss her daily feedings.

Georgie is survived by her sons, Robert "Bobby" Heyer and his wife, Dorothy of Cuero and Gary Heyer and his wife, Pam of Victoria; brother, Dalton Friedrichs of Arneckeville; sister, Elorine Hartman of Arneckeville; and Chanin Green and husband, Eric, of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Harold.

Visitation will be Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5 to7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home, and Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018, 10 a.m., at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Bryan Friedrichs, Doug Hartman, Jeff Hartman, Eric Green, Tom Bauer and Michael Meier.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Marks Lutheran Church or the Arneckeville Community Center in Arneckeville.
