Gloria Irma Gonzalez, 83, of Cuero passed away Monday, December 26, 2011. She was born September 12, 1928 in Viacillo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Gloria was a school teacher for many years and a wonderful homemaker. She was a Guadalupana, a choir member, and lector at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and a loving mother and grandmother. She married her late husband, Joe Hector Gonzalez Sr. on February 8, 1947 in Mexico.
She is survived by her daughter, Yolanda G. Boone of Cuero; son, Joe Hector Gonzalez Jr. of San Diego, California; two brothers; grandchildren, Jesus Boone, Billy Boone, Linda Reyes, Marisol Boone, Caroline Boone, and Ruby Boone; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, and three brothers.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Friday, December 30, 2011, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Roy Boone, Jesus Boone Jr., Joseph Boone, Taylor Boone, Roman Macias, Anthony Schones, and honorary pallbearer, Gabrielle Boone.
