Grace Joyce Henkes, 84, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010. She was born March 9, 1926 in Cuero to the late Kirksey Alvin Bennett and Gracey Harryman. Grace retired from Mt. Vernon Mills Inc. Brentex after 33 years of service.

She is survived by her sons, Eugene B. Molands, Kirksey Henkes, and Henry Henkes, all of Cuero; daughters, Nancy Hallmark of Victoria and Theresa Hughes of Freer; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Frank Henkes; sister, Alice Marie Calis; brothers, Parker Bennett, Joe Bennett, and Johnnie Bennett.

Visitation will be Friday, June 4, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, June 5, 2010, 2 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Brown officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Sutton-Taylor Cemetery.
