CUERO - Gregorio S. "Greg" Villareal, 77, of Cuero, passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at DeTar Hospital in Victoria. He was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Yoakum, to the late Valintin Villareal and Guadalupe S. Villareal. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired after 35 years with Lacks Furniture. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of VFW 3972.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Davis; stepdaughters, Christine Zepeda and Janet Sertuche, both of Victoria, Deborah Wittle of Maryland, and Vicci Juntunen of Houston; son, Michael Villareal of Altus, Okla.; one granddaughter; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ronnie Villareal and George Villareal; sister, Pauline Ruiz; brother, and Val Villareal.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, with a memorial service at 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home. Deacon Tony Warzesha will officiate.
