VICTORIA - Guadalupe Medellin Echavarria Chavira, 74, of Victoria, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009. She was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Cuero, to the late Rafael Medellin and Maria Delores Flores. She married Jose Chavira on Oct. 28, 1993. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Mary Jane Perez of Victoria, Annie Churan of Victoria, Dora Partida of Yoakum, Gloria Echavarria of Pasadena, Rosita Patlan of Cuero, Dolores Perez of Cuero, and Josie Ibarra of Edna; sons, Ralph Echavarria of La Grange, Johnny Echavarria of Cuero, Willie Echavarria of Cuero, and Inez Echavarria of Richmond; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Inez Echavarria Sr.; granddaughter, Cora Alma Leske.

Visitation was from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alfredo Araujo officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Brandon Perez, Dee Perez, Jacob Echavarria, Anthony Partida, Marty Leske, Bonifacio Perez Jr., and Marcus Perez.
