Guadalupe Canas Gonzales, 77, of Cuero passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015. She was born on September 24, 1937 in Cuero to the late Juan Canas and Lorenza Esparza Canas. She married the love of her life, Steve L. Gonzales Sr., on March 6, 1957 in Cuero. She loved making beautiful quilts and always enjoyed the time spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her daughters, Irene (Joe) Dimas of Fort Worth, Mary Ann (Ben) Naranjo of Hurst, Laura (Jerry) Williams of Richland Hills; son, Steve (Yvonne) Gonzales of San Antonio; sisters, Lorenza Guajardo of Cuero, Sue (Louis) Wood of Kingsville, Mary Dau of Scribner, NE, Petra Owen of Cuero; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved husband. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 5-7:00 pm with a rosary to begin at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 2 pm with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jerry Williams, Joe Dimas, Ben Naranjo, Adam Alvarez, Joe Ray Dimas, and Jason Dimas.
