Gumecinda Ramirez Martinez was born on Nov. 11, 1926 and passed away on Aug. 8, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother and sister, another brother, and one daughter.

She is survived by one son, Pedro R. Martinez Jr.; two daughters, Rebecca Hernandez and Gloria Liendo; one brother, Rudolfo Ramirez; one sister, Evangelina Martinez; seven grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.

Although she only had four children, she raised many more. She was an extraordinary care giver and homemaker with a gift for serving. So, she leaves our minds with memories of sewn gowns and quilts, treasured recipes, unforgettable trips, and unconditional love for us all.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at at Freund Funeral Home chapel in Cuero. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Dan Morales officiating. Interment will follow at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Westhoff.

Pallbearers will be John Liendo Jr., Brian A. Liendo, Enrique Martinez, Jesus Garza, Ernest Ramirez, and Robert Ramirez.

Honorary pallbearers are Pedro Martinez Jr., John Liendo Sr., and Simon Hernandez III.
