Harold "Driz" Neal Dreyer, beloved father, grandfather, great- grandfather, and friend died peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born on February 12, 1931 to the late Dave and Irene (Bluntzer) Dreyer.
He played the clarinet and saxophone with the US Air Force Band during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Air Force, he attended the University of Texas. He later was a member of the Bennie Prause Orchestra and the Tommi Vanek Orchestra. He successfully owned Dreyer TV Repair for many years before he retired and delivered the Victoria Advocate. He loved telling good jokes, fixing cars, going to garage sales, watching Jeopardy, and watching/listening to the Cuero Gobblers on Friday nights.
Harold is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Zapata and Sandra Zapata, of Cuero; sons, Richard (Emedelia) Zapata of Austin and Steve Dreyer of Cuero; Ray and Benita Barnett; grandchildren, Tracy (Joe) Trevino, Eric Zapata, Chyann Sammons, all of Cuero, Jeffery (Desiree) Zapata of San Antonio, and Isabell Zapata of Austin; and eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Dreyer Fetters; niece, Veronica Zimmerman; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Trevino; granddaughter, Dakota Sammons and great friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Father Jasper Liggio officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
