Obituary

Harry Lee Phillips, 85, of Cuero, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011. He was born June 15, 1925, in Victoria. He married Peaches C. Phillips on Sept. 1, 1946, in Kingsville.

He was a retired petroleum engineer. He was a WWII veteran with U.S. Army Air Corp and flew as a B-17 Armorer Gunner in Africa, Italy, and over Germany. He loved fishing, hunting, and barbecuing with his family. He was an outdoors person.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Richard L. (Frances) Phillips of Victoria, Tom (Janet) Phillips of Houston, and Garry (Kathy) Phillips of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Melanie Cromer, Doyle Phillips, Sara Phillips, Leila Allen, Michelle Phillips, and Justin Phillips; great-grandchildren, Brianna Cromer, Trip Cromer, and Lola Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Freund Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Walden officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Primitive Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Charlie Coker, Mickey Rausch, Carl Kreuger, Hamp Cromer, Maurice Fodera, and David Drehr.

Honorary pallbearers are Doyle Phillips, Melanie Cromer, Sara Phillips, Leila Allen, Michelle Phillips, Justin Phillips, Rebecca Sillivan, and Rusty Sillivan.
