Obituary

Hector Ramirez, 54, of Cuero, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, in San Antonio. He was born Feb. 10, 1957, in Cuero, to the late Mercedes Ramirez and Virginia Ramirez. He graduated Cuero High School in 1975 and served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1980. He served overseas in Germany and received the Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Badge with M-16 rifle bar. He worked at Sears in Loss Prevention and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sisters, Lori Soto (Ben) of Edna and Ida Ramirez of Cuero; brothers, Roy Ramirez of Cuero, Ernest Ramirez (Connie) of Seguin, and Robert Ramirez (Kimberly) of Victoria; nieces and nephews, Zacharee Ramirez of Seguin, Kaylyn Ramirez of Seguin, Jasmine Mendez of Cuero, Jade Mendez of Cuero, Jacoby Mendez of Cuero, and Kaden Ramirez of Victoria.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Westhoff with the Rev. Augustine Nsiah Asante. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Westhoff.

Pallbearers will be Zacharee Ramirez, John Capelo, Clint Clark, Augustine Gonzales, Bo Birchum, and Ricky Martinez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kaden Ramirez, Jacoby Mendez, Ben Soto, Roy Ramirez, Ernest Ramirez, Robert Ramirez, Mike Barron, and Jesse Gomez.
