Henry Ellwood Rangnow, 84, of Cuero, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 in Victoria. He was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Golly Community, to the late Edwin J. Rangnow and Meta Brandt Rangnow. He was a rancher, water well driller, and a homebuilder. In 1951 he had his first bale of cotton for the season. He married Elda Borgfeld on Aug. 24, 1952 in Yorktown.
He is survived by his wife, Elda Borgfeld Rangnow; his daughter, Valarie Denney (Kenny); his son, Henry L. Rangnow (Kathy); nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharon Najvar; sister, Linda Hotz; brothers, Edwin Rangnow, Otto Rangnow, and John Rangnow; and a great-granddaughter, Katherine.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. today, Feb. 19, 2010, at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. today at Freund Funeral Home, with Pastor Eric Petty officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Trey Schuenemann, Keith Janak, Carlos Garcia, Buck Rangnow, Chad Rangnow, and Charlie Rangnow.
Honorary pallbearers are Christi Schuenemann, Monica Janak, Jessica Garcia, Toi Rangnow, Scarlett Rangnow, Lori Barlow, Diane Lopez, Melissa Grissett, JJ Denney, and Dorthy Denney.
