Hilda R. Edgar, 93, of Cuero passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017. She was born September 16, 1923 in Nordon, Nebraska to Charles J. and Nellie Bahr Simons. Hilda married James "Darden" Edgar on August 5, 1944 in Crawford, Nebraska. She graduated from Southwest Texas State in 1962 and taught in Nursery from 1962 to 1970 and in Yoakum from 1970 to 1984. She is survived by her daughter, Eva-Marie Kohn of Houston; son, James C. (Buddy) Edgar of Cuero; grandchildren, Lisa Weickum and T.J. Weickum both of South Dakota and Milisa Roitscht of Woodsboro; 4 great grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband and brother Ralph Simons. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with a Rosary to begin at 6:30 p.m. Services will be held Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Oscar Amo officiating.
