CUERO - Hugh Thomas Freeland, 76, of Cuero, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. He was born June 30, 1932, in Hubbard (Hill County), to the late Linnie Pearl Spinks and Hugh Thomas Freeland. He was an upholsterer's assistant. He enjoyed playing dominoes, watching westerns on T.V., kept up with current events, and enjoyed going to the Cuero Country Opry.

He is survived by his cousins, Glenda Heinold of Victoria, Linda Ruschhaupt of Cuero, Dianna Bartosh of Cuero, Bruce Spinks of Houston, Shirley Theriot of Freeport, Mabel Jewel Silverstein of Freeport, Norman Spinks of Houston, Faye Taylor of La Grange, James Moore of Yoakum, Dr. Harold Freeland of Keene, Alvin Boyd Tipps of Alvin, and Billie Rogers of Waco.

Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, Feb. 28, 2009 at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Freund Funeral Home, with Mr. Trevor Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
