Irene E. Blaschke Henrichs Bartek, 92, of Cuero passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018.  She was born June 27, 1925 in Witting to the late Frank and Bertha Kneifel Blaschke.  Irene married Johnnie Alvin Henrichs on September 12, 1942. After his passing, she met William J. Bartek Jr.   Irene and William were married on April 12, 1958 in Yoakum.   She was a homemaker that enjoyed spending her day  gardening, canning, sewing, cooking, and reading books.  Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, William J. Bartek III of Cuero, Robert (Wendy) Bartek of Dripping Springs, and Gary (Gail) Henrichs of Victoria; daughters, Carla (Jason) Goehring of Richmond, Belva (Ronnie) Farris of Cuero, and Eileen (Gene) Matejicek of Victoria; son-in-law, Tim Lawson of Yantis; sister, Doris Machicek of Point Comfort; grandchildren, Jackie Modrow, Chrissy Matejicek, Curtis Newkirk, Mardi Newkirk, Ronald Romanowski, Cameron and Case Farris, Sam and Matthew Bartek, Jackson and Courtney Goehring, and Cody Lawson; fifteen great-grandchildren and fourteen great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; daughter, Edna Lawson;  sister, Isabel Schilab; and grandchild, Johnny Simmons.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, May 16 at Freund Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Jasper Liggio officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Cody Lawson, Cameron Farris, Case Farris, Sam Bartek, Matthew Bartek, and Jackson Goehring.  Honorary pallbearers will include Courtney Goehring, Jackie Modrow, and Chrissy Matejicek.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
