Irene O. Denny, 87, of Westhoff passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012. She was born on August 10, 1925, in Gonzales County to the late Otto and Ella Afflerbach Hilbrich. She married her beloved husband Ted E. Denny, on September 16, 1952 in San Antonio. Irene was a homemaker; President, Women of the Church of Trinity Lutheran Church, Oklahoma City, OK; Treasurer, Oaks Indian Mission Board, Oaks, OK; President, Westhoff American Legion Women's Auxiliary; President, St. John's Lutheran Church Women; and Director of Westhoff Cemetery Association. Her passions were her family, her church, gardening, baking, quilting, bowling, dominos, all sports, and travel.
She is survived by her daughters, D'Ann Barnhart of Red Oak, TX; Darcie Wallenmeyer and husband, Rick, of Edmond, OK; son, Drew Denny and wife, Diana, of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Joycie Kahlich and husband, Norman, of Cuero; sister-in-law, Angeline Hilbrich; grandchildren, Adam Wallenmeyer and wife, Heather, of Moore, OK; Nathan Wallenmeyer of Kodiak, AK; and Emily Bishop and husband, Clint, of Woodstock, GA; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Aubrie, and Teagan Wallenmeyer all of Moore, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Dana Denny; and brother, Melvin Hilbrich; son-in-law, Steve Barnhart.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 28, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, October 29, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Westhoff with Rev. William Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Westhoff Cemetery.
