Irene Villa, 69, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020.  She was born October 30, 1950 in Westhoff to Juan Barron and Mary Barron Ortiz.  She married Samuel Villa, Sr. on November 26, 1975 in Cuero.  Irene was a nurse and enjoyed caring for others for the past thirty years of her life.  She loved her co-workers, her children and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Barron Ortiz; sons, Sammy (Becky) Villa, Jr. of Gonzales and John Michael Villa of Austin; sister, Olga Tounley of Cuero; brother, Mike Barron of San Antonio; Grandchildren, Alexander Villa of Bryan, Samantha Villa of Gonzales and Nicholas Villa of Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Barron; husband of 42 years, Samuel Villa Sr.; brothers, John Barron, Nabor Barron Sr., and Domingo Barron Sr.

Pallbearers include Sammy Villa Jr. Alexander Villa, Eddie Barron, Trey Barron, Jeff Villa and Nick Villa.

Honorary Pallbearers include her grandchildren and Twix, her cat.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Freund Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 28, 2020, 10 AM at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Barron officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
