Iris Jank, 77, of Meyersville, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010. She was born June 24, 1932, in Meyersville, to the late Annie Dentler and Walter Rangnow. She married John "J. Gus" Jank on Feb. 25, 1951 in Meyersville. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and gardening, was a great homemaker, and loved flowers.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Beverly Bodden (Kevin) of Meyersville; sons, Johnny Paul Jank (Virginia) of Meyersville, Bruce Jank and friend Darla Fox of Victoria, and Mitchell Jank (Terri) of Meyersville; grandchildren, Kyle and Kolby Jank of Victoria, Trenton and Trevor Bodden of Meyersville, Britany Jank of Lockhart, Kim Weitz (John) of Inez, Megan Peterek (Chad) of Victoria, Will and Lisa Sager of Meyersville; and great-grandchildren, Tanner Weitz, Cade Peterek, and Zach Peterek.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her baby brother.
Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, June 2, 2010 at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Meyersville, with Pastor Barbara Beal officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Kyle Jank, Kolby Jank, Trenton Bodden, Trevor Bodden, John Weitz, Chad Peterek, Will Sager, and Matthew Fox. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandsons: Tanner Weitz, Zachary Peterek, and Cade Peterek.
