Obituary

Jackie (Hall) Marler passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 12, 2010, in Denver, Colorado, where she had been living with her daughter. Jackie was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 15, 1920, to Charles and Florence Mahood Dresser. Jackie's mother died shortly after giving childbirth, so she was raised by her paternal grandparents. During World War II, she moved to Texas and lived most of her life in Cuero, Texas, where she developed many life-long friends.

Jackie was generous to all with whom she came in contact, forever putting others' needs ahead of her own. She was always positive and upbeat, able to find the good in everyone. She had a number of careers during her life, but none was more important than her role as the anchor of her family.

Mrs. Marler was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Marler of Weesatche, Texas and her oldest daughter, Candy Davidson of Dallas, Texas. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Eddie Moreno of Denver, Colorado , Robin and Rob Chernich of Bellevue, Washington and by her son, Michael Hall of Lake Jackson, Texas and her daughter-in-law, Karen Hall, also of Lake Jackson. Mrs. Marler is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren to whom she was known as "Ammy." She was a much beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

A memorial service will be held March 26, 2010, 2 p.m., at the Bramlette Country Home.
