James William Dieringer, 76, of Cuero passed away Monday, January 23, 2012. He was born February 24, 1935 in Cuero to the late William and Dorothy Lucas Dieringer. He married his late wife Alberta Demmer Dieringer in Yorktown on November 16, 1957. James spent many years working in air conditioning maintenance and retired in 2000 from the Austin State School. He enjoyed travel, woodworking, reading, and listening to music. He treasured his family and 50 years of marriage to his loving wife, Alberta.
He is survived by daughter, Sharon Hinkle and husband, Danny, of Cedar Creek; sons, Gene Dieringer and wife, Theresa, of Georgetown and Dennis Dieringer of Austin; grandchildren, Danielle Robbins of Paige, Melissa Dieringer of Round Rock, Loren Roberts of Bastrop, Kristen Smiley of Smithville, Connor Dieringer of Georgetown, and Ethan Dieringer of Georgetown; and great-grandchildren, Malina and Aiyanna Rhynes of Round Rock, Randi, Rian, and Rilynn Robbins of Paige, Mackenzy, Kyndal, and Callen Roberts of Bastrop, and Weston Smiley of Smithville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, January 27, 2012, 10 a.m., at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Vincent Demmer, Richard Demmer, David Demmer, Andrew Demmer, Robert Demmer, Chester Lucas, Pete Martinez, and Bill Fellhousen.
Honorary pallbearers include Clayton Robbins, Patrick Roberts, Marshall Smiley, Connor Dieringer, Ethan Dieringer, Weston Smiley, and Callen Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Michaels Catholic School.
