James Arthur Ransom, 71, of Cuero passed away Friday, April 30, 2021.  He was born May 18, 1949 in Cuero to the late Ella Mae Young.  He married Beverly Ann Williams on August 12, 1999 in Cuero.  He was employed by Lynn McGuffy as a shipping foreman in Houston.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Beverly; son, James (Dorothy) Mathis of Houston; daughters, Aleshia (Edward) McGruder of Houston and Rhonda (Essex) Johnson of Houston; step-sons, Chris (Shondra) Williams of Cuero, Delvin Taylor of Lubbock; step-daughter, Kimberly Williams of Cuero; nine granddaughters; seven grandsons; one great-grandchild; brother, Clifford Ransom of Fort Worth; sister, Pamela Ransom of Fort Worth; brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; an uncle; a host of nieces and nephews; very dear friends, Thomas and Vicki McGuffy, a host of dear friends; and his beloved dog, Fox.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, May 7, 2021, 10 AM at Hillside Cemetery with Rev. Lou Terry Jackson presiding.
