Janet Elenora Bitterly, 82, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013. She was born November 8, 1930 in Victoria to the late Adolph and Caroline Jaschke Ohrt. She married her beloved husband John Robert Bitterly on July 10, 1949 in Meyersville.

She is survived by her daughters, Alice Rickman of Cuero and Patty Bassett of Victoria; Sons, John M. Bitterly and Robert A. Bitterly both of Cuero; sister, Roxanne Salziger of Victoria; brothers, Donald Ohrt and Toby Ohrt both of Victoria; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Mildred Preiss and Joyce Petering and brothers, B.C. Ohrt, Noel Ohrt, and Neil Ohrt.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Rosary will be held 9:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Charles Otsiwah officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Bobby Bitterly, Clayton Rickman, Robby Bitterly, Reed Bitterly, Ryan Bitterly, and Dale Salziger.

Honorary pallbearers include Teresa Clifton, Amy Lane, and Cassie Lane.
