Jean Austin Kaiser, 81, of Victoria, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 in Cuero. She was born March 22, 1928, in Rolla, Mo., to the late Verle Austin and Ethel Case Austin. She married A. David Kaiser on Aug. 3, 1951 at Shettles memorial Methodist Church in Austin. She was a retired teacher with VISD.
She graduated from U.T. with a B.S. in education, and a master's from University of Houston-Victoria. She taught for 27 years at Shield's Elementary in Victoria. She volunteered at Citizens Medical Center and also at First United Methodist Church (prescription assistant). She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Victoria and a member of Retired Teachers of Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennie L. Pritchett and husband Greg of Cuero; sons, Gordon Kaiser of Houston and Stuart L. Kaiser and wife Carol of Austin; sisters, Nina Jane Brown and husband Dave of Fort Worth; and grandchildren, Crystal Kaiser of Kentucky, Stephanie Kaiser of Port Lavaca, David and Kyle Kaiser of Minnesota, Chris Spinks of Austin, Mac and Katie McClung of Cuero, and Ashlie Pritchett of Cuero.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
