Jerome Ronald Wild, 71, of Cuero, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. He was born September 15, 1946 in Cuero to the late Emil and Johanna Schlinke Wild. Jerome proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966-1969. On June 15, 1974 he married the love of his life, Iris Grote, in San Antonio. Jerome was a welder, machinist, rancher, teacher, and owned F&H Bit Co. in Cuero. Jerome is survived by his wife of 43 years; daughter, Kathleen Kirkham and husband, Brett, of Fort Worth; son, Jonathan Wild and wife, Britni, of Victoria; sister, Margaret Haas and husband, Ed, of Seabrook; and granddaughters, Briley, Laney, and Abby, all of Victoria. He was preceded in death by his loving parents. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 3 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Lindenau with Pastor William Hill officiating and Pastor Paul Muehlbrad assisting. Interment will follow at Lindenau Community Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Lindenau Community Cemetery.
