CUERO - Jesusa V. Rodriguez, 79, of Cuero, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2009, in her home. She was born Dec. 24, 1929, in Cushing, Okla., to the late Santos Valdez and Augustina Sanchez Valdez. She was a spinner at Brentex Mills and a homemaker. She married the late Julio Rodriguez Sr. in Cuero.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Gamez of Cuero and Graciela Rodriguez of Victoria; stepdaughter, Teresa Cammacho of Gregory/Portland; sons, Ernest Rodriguez Sr., Christopher Gamez, and Julio Mario Rodriguez, all of Cuero; stepson, John Rodriguez of Cuero; sisters, Consuelo Salazar of San Antonio and Feliz Vasquez of Cuero; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lydia P. Silva; stepson, Julio Rodriguez Jr.; infant son, Julio Eric Rodriguez; sister, Matilde Partida; brothers, John Valdez and Joe Valdez.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday,

April 25, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Kirby Hlavaty. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Christopher Gamez, Lupe Gamez, Julio Rodriguez, Ernest Rodriguez Jr., Ryan Rodriguez, and Rodney Silva.

Honorary pallbearers are the staff at Hospice of South Texas.
