Jimmy G. Shows, 71, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011. He was born June 22, 1939 in Cuero to the late Adam and Mittie Slaughter Shows. He married Linda Caraway in Zapata on August 16, 1976. Jimmy was a driller.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Shows; daughters, Mona Schlieper and husband, Jim, of Alice, Vicky Laqua and husband, Billy, of Cuero, and Betty Shows and George, of Gonzales; sons, Ronald W. Shows of Gonzales and Randy P. Stirneman and wife, Jennifer, of Oregon; brother, Floyd Shows; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin Shows, Leroy Shows, Lloyd Shows, and James Shows; and sister, Gladys Roggenkamp.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, 2 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Mueller officiating. Interment will follow at Westhoff Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Dusty Laqua, Jim Schlieper, Billy Laqua, Butch Caraway, BJ Smith, and Louis Laqua.
Honorary pallbearers include Joe Anzualda and Franke Marks.
