J.L. McElroy, 87, of San Antonio passed away Monday, February 25, 2019.  J.L. was born December 31, 1931 to the late Roy Lewis and Janie Mae Blodgett McElroy.  He was a truck driver and loved horseback riding.

He is survived by his daughters, Judy Beth of Gonzales and Cindy Kay of St. Hedwig; son, Ronald Wayne of San Antonio; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and his dog and best friend, Butchy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Millie Jean McElroy.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Freund Funeral Home.  Services will follow at 2 p.m.  Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Jason Paul Davis, Ronnie McElroy, Randal McElroy, Robert Rios, Brandon Kruciak, Bill Bauer, and honorary pallbearer, Bubba Noack.
