Jo Ann Ortmann, 75, of Smiley passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019.  She was born February 17, 1944 in Cuero to the late John "Jack" and Corinne G. Perrin.  Jo Ann married Sterling "Sonny" Ortmann on November 9, 1964 in Smiley.  She was a life-long rancher and had a true love for the outdoors. She had a passion for all wildlife and was an avid hunter.  Jo Ann loved and adored her dogs, often referring to Chewy and Tootsy as her girls.

She is survived by her sons, John Ortmann and his wife, Michelle, of Victoria and Michael Ortmann and his wife, Thelma, of Nixon; brother, Al King of Sweet Home; three grandsons; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandsons.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; and brother, Robert "Bob" F. Perrin.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Freund Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating.  Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery.
