Joe Sterling Dailey (Baby Joe) of Houston passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the age of 75.  Joe was born April 29, 1948 in Yoakum, Texas to the late Otho and Mary Pearl Dailey.

Joe retired from Richway Transportation Services of Houston as a truck driver.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Elanor Dailey of Houston; a daughter, Sheronda Dailey of Victoria; a son, Roy Dailey of Houston; step-sons, Kenneth and Michael of Houston; a brother, Robert Dailey of San Antonio; four sisters, Erma Jean Mathis, Alma Wesley, Rose Nell Shanklin and Lorine Boone all of Cuero; three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, R.B. Dailey, Walter Dailey, Douglas Ray Dailey and Otho Dailey Jr.; and sisters, Effie B. Smith, Mary Louise Mathis and Dorothy Mae Henderson.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, 1:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Bro. Garland Shanklin officiating.  Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Ronnie Dailey, Rodney Mathis, Brian Boone, Terry Nobles, Dewayne Mathis and Philip Word.

Honorary Pallbearers include his sisters and brother.
