Joe David Sanders, 70, of Cuero, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010. He was born July 11, 1939, in Tulsa, Okla., to the late Van David Sanders and Alma June Sanders. He married Gayle Sanders on Sept. 2, 1961, in Redmond, Ore. He was a retired.
He was director of the Cuero Gun Club, life member of National Rifle Association (NRA), former private pilot for Cuero Aviation, and a lifetime member of the Dewitt County Historical Museum.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Michelle Sanders Mueller and husband Larry of Friendswood; his son, Michael Sanders and wife Christie of Dripping Springs; his brother, Billy Sanders of Victoria; and his grandchildren, Madesyn Mueller of Friendswood, Blaine Sanders and Blayre Sanders, both of Dripping Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Freund Funeral Home with Dr. Glenn Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tom Ethridge, Bobby McMahon, Bobby Heyer, Michael Reamy, Calvin Koenig, and Curtis Tramnel.
Honorary pallbearers are Sterling Morrow, Don Stiles, and Donnie Seaba.
