Obituary
Joe Knowles Wallis, 82, of Houston passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010. He was born August 30, 1927 in Hutto to the late Joe Sr. and Alice Ruth Anderson Wallis. He married Carolyn Wallis in Houston in 1958. Joe served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a University of Houston graduate and a member of the Fraternal Kappa Alpha Order. Joe loved to hunt geese, was a marksman, enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his tomatoes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years; his sons, SSGT. Jared Wallis of Uvalde, Dr. Christopher Wallis of San Francisco, Calif., and Mr. Colin Wallis of Austin; and his grandson J. Traylor Smith-Wallis of San Francisco, Calif.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Leske.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010, 11 a.m., at Hillside Cemetery with Rev. Mike Marsh officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jared Wallis, Christopher Wallis, Colin Wallis, Robert Leske, William Leske, and Joshua Leske.
