Joe C. Watson, 77, of Cuero passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017. He was born November 23, 1939 in Gonzales to Joseph and Luella Houston Watson. He married Barbara Jean Bolt on November 28, 1964 in Luling. Joe served in the National Guard for 7 years. He was a mechanic for Duckett Motor Company and through his own trucking company, he hauled cattle for 25 years. The remainder of his working years, he worked as a foreman for AK Ranch. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Frances Watson of Uvalde and Holly Watson of Cuero; sons, Cody Watson (Janine) of Luling, Joebob Watson of Cuero and Staton Watson of Yorktown; sisters, Margie Kacir (Gene) and Lynette Schlenker (Tommy) both of Cuero; brothers, Tommy Watson (Carol) of Cuero, Jim Watson (Emily) of Edinburg and Robert Watson (Ann) of Cheapside; grandchildren, Candice Vistine, Misty McBride, Kayla Shaffer, Brittany Hahn, Kaitlynn Watson, Amberly Watson, Braydon Watson and Landon Watson; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Cheapside School House in Cheapside with Jim Watson officiating.
