Jose Francisco Arguellez, 60, of Cuero, was called home to his heavenly father Wednesday, February 1, 2017. He was born October 4, 1956 in Brownfield to the late Porifirio Arguellez, Sr. and Juanita Banda Arguellez. Jose was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, serving on the Liturgy committee , the Guadalupanos Bereavement Committee and a member of the choir. He had a passion for music and loved to play the bass guitar. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Arguellez Villarreal and husband Gary of Victoria; son, Jesse Cruz Arguellez and wife Jennifer of Cuero and Joey Garibay and wife, Kaitlyn of Karnes City; sisters, Juanita DeLaGarza and husband Leoncio of Kenedy, Mary Helen Monahan and husband John of Cuero, Dominga Garcia and husband Felix of Rockport; brothers, Porifirio Arguellez, Jr. and wife Janie of Yorktown, Felix Arguellez and wife Lupe of Yorktown, Armando Arguellez and wife Lisa of McAllen, Mario Arguellez and wife Linda of Cuero, Gilbert Arguellez, Sr., of Runge and Richard Arguellez and wife Rosie of Floresville; grandchildren, Julieana Alysse Arguellez, Haley Alycia Barbontin, Gabriella Avianna Villarreal, Kensley Addison Garibay , Gary G. Villarreal, Jr., Christian A. Villarreal, Brandon Estilow and Cami Mosbroker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josphine Delrosario; and brothers, Abundio Arguellez and Juanito Arguellez. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jody Farias, Ruben Garza, Matilda Rodela, Marcelino Farias, Jr., Valeno Mungia and Armando Mungia.
