Jose 'Joey' Manuel Gonzalez, 23, of Yoakum passed away Monday, October 31, 2011. He was born August 11, 1988 in Brownsville to Audra Alaniz and the late Manuel Gonzalez. Joey loved football, playing with his children, spending time with his family, and his mom's good cooking.

He is survived by his wife, Casey Gonzalez of Cuero; mother, Audra Alaniz of Yoakum; daughter, Joclyn Jade Gonzalez of Yoakum; son, Xavier Manuel Gonzalez of Yoakum; sisters, Zoe Osegueda and Alexandria Gonzalez, both of Yoakum; and brothers, Juan Carlos Gonzalez of Yoakum, Brandon Gonzalez of Brownsville, and Rudy Andrew Osegueda of Victoria.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Gonzalez.

Visitation will be held Monday November 7, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 10:30a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Joe Moreno officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Brandon Gonzalez, Brandon Corona, Michael Corona, Rudy A Osegueda, Cedric Peoples, Michael "Chito" Varela, and Mona Recio. Honorary pallbearers will be Alexandria Gonzalez and Zoe Osegueda and Robert Leal
