Jose R. Mejia, 69 of Cuero, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 in San Antonio. He was born March 19, 1946 in Yorktown to the late Benito Mejia, Sr.and Angelita Robledo Mejia. Jose was a hairstylist/barber for 45 years in Cuero, Victoria and San Antonio.

He is survived by wife, Esperanza Mejia; daughters, Milissa Martinez (Jimmie) of San Antonio, Erica Licon (Chris) of Pflugerville; son, Gabriel Mejia of Dallas; sisters, Eva DeHoyos (Jesse), Matilde Martinez (Ramiro), Irma Flores (Lorenzo) of San Antonio, Theresa Mejia (Maryjane) of Cuero, ; brothers, Herminio Mejia (Senaida) of Sinton, Larry Mejia (Sylvia), Domingo Mejia (Irma) of Cuero; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Benito Mejia, Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday December 18, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Services will be Saturday December 19, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father David Berger officiating.
