Joseph Labron Gibbs Sr., 83, of Cuero, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He was born February 4, 1931 in Cuero to the late Malinda Mae Jackson Gibbs and Robert Gibbs Sr. Joseph married Rosalie Jackson on February 14, 1991 in Cuero. He was a butcher for many years and enjoyed making sausage and catering events. He was also a bus driver for C.I.S.D. Joseph loved playing dominoes and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Rosalie Gibbs; daughters, Ruthie Mathis Davis of San Antonio, Lula Zina Gibbs of Albuquerque, NM, Faedra (Neil) Johnson of Farmington, NM, and Joelene (Dennis) Jones of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Robert (Annie) Gibbs Sr. of Cuero, Phillip (Danetta) Gibbs of Albuquerque, NM, Felix (Mildred) Gibbs of Dallas, and Robert Green of San Antonio; sisters, Carolyn Gibbs of Muskogee, OK and Theresa Mildeton of Wagner , OK; brothers, Johnie (Tina) Gibbs of Wagner, OK, Robert (Robin) Gibbs of Goodyear, AZ, and Frankie Gibbs of Muskogee, OK; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Mavis Dorrell and Donna Lemons; son, Joseph Labron Gibbs; sisters, Eva Lee Salone, Melgree Holton, and Evylen Caesar; and brother, Sammy Battles. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, January 26, 2015, 1 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Rev. Paula Hopkins officiating.
