Josephine Torres Martinez, 78, of Cuero passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019.  She was born July 10, 1941 in Yorktown to the late Thomas and Tomasita Torres.  She married Sam Martinez Jr.  on August 30, 1959 at San Luis Catholic Church in Yorktown.  She worked at Circle Y doing assembly work, she was a seamstress out of her home and she also volunteered at the Camal House.

She is survived by her sisters, Salome Alvarez and Manuelita De La Cruz of Grand Prairie; brother in law, Martin Cavazos of Cuero; blessed and loved with several Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 45 years, Sam; son, Tony Torres Martinez; infant sister, Mary Jane; brothers, Ramon Cantu, Martin Torres and Thomas T. Torres.

Pallbearers include Ricky De La Cruz, Johnny Briones, Sammy Cantu, Junior Cantu, Martin De La Cruz, James Gonzales, Robert Bustos and Johnnie Echavarria.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 19, 2019, 5 to 7 PM at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM.  Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 20, 2019, 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating.  Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
