Juanita "Janie" Aleman Ruiz, 102 of San Antonio formerly of Cuero, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017. She was born October 30, 1914 to the late Alfred and Maria Gonzales Aleman. Janie was a Homemaker and Rancher. She loved gardening, dancing, sewing and cooking. She is survived by daughter, Emily Funari; sons, Ernest Ruiz and wife, Rosalind Ruiz and Roy A. Ruiz; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norberto M. Ruiz; daughter, Mary A. Hudson; sister, Lily Wesar; brothers, Frank Aleman, Joe Aleman, Alfred Aleman and Robert Aleman. Visitation, rosary and services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Freund Funeral Home with visitation at 10 a.m., rosary recited at 10:30 a.m. and services to begin at 11 a.m. with Father Oscar Amo officiating.
