Julian B. Flores, 77, of Cuero, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009. He was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Cuero, to the late Geraldo Flores and Guadalupe B. Flores of Cuero. He liked hunting and fishing. He married Margarita Flores on July 17, 1952.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Margarita Flores; daughters, Dora Pena and husband Rickey Sr. of Victoria, and Lupe Gonzales and husband Hector of Victoria; sons, Victor Flores of Oklahoma, Frank Flores of Austin, Julian Flores Jr. of Colorado, Alfonso Flores and wife Rosa Linda of Victoria, Bibian Flores of Victoria, and Gerald Flores and wife Lori of Manor; sisters, Maria Muniz of Yorktown, Gorgonia Soliz of Houston, and Delores Medillin of Cuero; brother, Marcus Flores of Cuero; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Jose Garcia; sisters, Petra Aleman and Guadalupe Lopez; and brothers, Lorenzo Flores and Ignazio Flores Sr.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Kirby Hlavaty. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.
Pallbearers are Victor Flores, Alfonso Flores, Gerald Flores, Julian Flores III, Ricky Pena Jr., and Frank Flores Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Frank Flores Sr., Julian Flores Jr., Bibian Flores, Travis Cruz Flores, Hector Gonzalez, Ramon Pena.
