WESTHOFF - Kari Lyn Nessel, 48, of Westhoff, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at home. She was born on Aug. 9, 1960, in Dallas, to the late Doris Pugh and William Wayne Boyd of Dallas. She married Lynn Edwin Nessel on Dec. 15, 1979 in Grangerland. She was the gift shop manager at Cuero Community Hospital. Kari was a devoted wife and mother. She was a volunteer of the hospital auxiliary, active and supportive in various community and academic clubs including 4-H, Cuero Band, CHS Choir, CHS Trotters, CHS Athletics, and any other activity that she could assist her and other children in.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Erica Lynn Nessel of Westhoff; sons, Dustin Bennett Nessel and wife Rachel Lynn Nessel of Edna, and Joshua Clinton Nessel and fiancé Kristen Rose Faltesek of Westhoff; and sister, Cynthia Ann Meadows of Trinity.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 27, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero. Interment will follow at the Westhoff Cemetery in Westhoff.

Pallbearers: Ted Aven, Harlan Schlenker, Dick Gott, Calvin Ahrens, Mark Lincke, and Chuck Clifton.

Honorary pallbearers: Cuero Community Hospital Auxiliary volunteers.
