Katherine Ann Drehr, 82, of Cuero passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015. She was born July 6, 1933 in Franklin to the late James and Katherine Thompson Galloway. She received her Bachelor's of Science degree from Texas State University, formally known as Southwest Texas Teachers College. She went on to teach school in Westhoff, worked for DeWitt County Extension Service, and was the DeWitt County Clerk for many years. Ann was a member of Pilot Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Cuero Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, CAMAL House Board Member & Volunteer, Leader of 4-H Clubs and Boy Scouts of America, and a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Cuero.
She is survived by her daughters, Darla Liesman (Butch) of Irving and Donna Cox (T. Micheal) of Cuero; sons, David Drehr (Sammie) of Inez and Bill J. 'BJ' Drehr (Jackie) of Cuero; sister, Mary Petteway of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015, 10 a.m., at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Donna Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Perry Vernon, Steve Urbanovsky, Cory Duckett, Wes Dukes, Tommy Frazier, Carl Krueger, and David Calliham.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, or Cuero CAMAL House.
